PWP Launches Newly Diagnosed
Educational Series
|
|
PWP is excited to announce the launch of our Newly Diagnosed Educational Series. The series will be facilitated by our Executive Director and PWR! Therapist, Bailey Martin, and our very own counsellor, Dr. Linda Franchi.
This series, intended for people who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the past two years, will increase participants’ knowledge about Parkinson’s and help them to connect with others who are at a similar stage in their Parkinson’s journey.
Bailey and Dr. Franchi will discuss symptoms and treatments, what a Personal Parkinson's Plan could consist of, emotional changes, and coming to terms with a Parkinson's diagnosis. This series will also explore family and care partner support and the importance of finding purpose and meaning with Parkinson's.
The Newly Diagnosed Educational Series runs over five weeks from November 16 to December 14, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm every Tuesday.
This series will fill up fast and we are registering on a first come first serve basis, so please sign up right away so that you don't miss out. Email or call us to register at info@parkinsonwellness.ca or (250) 360-6800. If your diagnosis is outside of two years, but you are interested in attending, please contact us.

Share Your Stories for Giving Tuesday
|
|
|
November 30th is Giving Tuesday – a day in which communities across Canada and the world unite to rally for their favorite charities and causes. This year, Parkinson Wellness Projects is asking you to take part in Giving Tuesday by sharing your stories of what it means to you to be part of the PWP community, and why you’ve chosen to give back.
If you’ve volunteered with or donated to PWP in the past year, we would love to be able to share your story of a benefit that PWP has given to you, or a reason that you value our contributions. Please send us an email with your story, and include a photo if you’d like us to add it. Over the course of November, we’ll be sharing some of these stories on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #givingtuesday. You can also share your own stories online, letting friends, family, and the broader community know about why PWP matters to you.
Stay tuned for more stories of giving as we move through November and towards Giving Tuesday!

- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease or are, or have been, the primary caregiver or immediate family member of a person diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease;
- You have been a participant in programs offered by the Society or one of the Amalgamating Societies in the past year or for a continuous period of at least one year, or;
