Join Us For A Holiday Meet and Greet
December is here, and as our in-person operations continue to safely grow, we want to wish you “Happy Holidays” face-to-face.
On Thursday, December 16, we are welcoming guests into our facility from 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm, with tours every 30 minutes. Come downtown to get acquainted with our wellness centre, grab a holiday treat and enjoy a visit with our staff and fellow participants. To keep numbers down and ensure COVID safety, this event will be limited to 6 participants per tour group. Each tour will last 30 minutes, after which time you will be free to enjoy a coffee, a treat, and meet with friends old and new.
Because of the limited numbers of each tour, registration is mandatory. Friends and family are welcome. To RSVP please contact PWP at 250-360-6800 or email us at info@parkinsonwellness.ca. Proof of vaccination is required to attend.

Thank You For Sharing Your Stories
On November 30, 2021, communities across Canada and the world came together for Giving Tuesday, showing their support for charitable causes. Parkinson Wellness Projects took part by asking participants to share their stories about what PWP means to them and why they choose to give back, and you delivered.
Thank you to everyone who showed their support and appreciation for Parkinson Wellness Projects through your words, donations, and sharing of our event. It was an honour to read about your experiences and to hear how PWP has positively impacted you. Together, we raised over $3,000 to help provide fitness classes, counselling, support groups and educational sessions to people with Parkinson’s and their care partners.
We look forward to continuing to work with you to bring our programs and services to the growing Parkinson's community.
If you missed some of these stories and would like to read through them, they can be found on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PWPVic, and if you would like to contribute you can still do so below.

Instructor Highlight - Jaz Ibarra
Jaz Ibarra graduated from the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts (Belgium) and worked as a Sculptor, Illustrator and French and Fine Arts Teacher in Europe, Syria and Mexico for more than 15 years. As an artist, she took great delight in exploring Art Therapy, and eventually realized Manual Therapy was a wonderful fusion between art and health care.
In Canada, Jaz worked as a RMT and Tutor/Instructor at a Massage Therapy College in Calgary, before moving to BC in 2018. Jaz now works as a Registered Manual Osteopathic practitioner, and a Tai Chi instructor with Postureffect. Among other Osteopathy-related programs, she is the creator of "Tai Chi Therapy, an Osteopathic approach to Tai Chi” and “Aquatic Tai Chi Therapy." Jaz enjoys using her skills to help the Parkinson community move and feel better.
Interested in seeing Jaz in action? She joins us every Thursday at 10:00 AM, teaching Tai Chi both in-person and over Zoom for all levels. Contact us at info@parkinsonwellness.ca to sign up.
